Basic Life Support
for Healthcare Providers

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (HCP) Course is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support. This course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

The Course comprises 36 lessons and teaches the skills of CPR and choking for victims of all ages, including ventilation with barrier devices, pocket masks, bag-valve-mask devices with supplemental oxygen, and the use of Automated External Defibrillators. A BLS for Healthcare Providers Student Manual is provided for each participant for review before, during and after the Course. For successful completion of the Course, participants will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in CPR and AED use, and obtain a score of at least 84% in the final written evaluation.
